NFTs are Non-Fungible Tokens. Essentially, they are digital collectible items that can be traded on the blockchain. Artists are using NFTs to sell unique songs, artwork, and even exclusive access to backstage. For a more in-depth review, check out this article by CoinDesk.

And here is an article about the Deadmau5 NFTs.

Each time someone streams or downloads your music from one of the blockchain music platforms, you will earn cryptocurrency. These tokens will remain in your wallet until the value reaches at least $25, and then we will either transfer the tokens to you, or pay you in fiat (USD, Euro, etc...)
We will collect as much information about your streams and share this data with you. Currently, there isn't a way for you to log in directly to see your statements. We believe in 100% transparency, so you'll see what we see.
This might be a feature we enable in the future.

Token Questions

Music tokens are cryptocurrency. Broading speaking, cryptocurrency are digital assets which can either be coins or tokens. Tokens are defined as only having a utility or purpose used within a project's ecosystem. Coins, are designed to be currencies.
There are many reasons to acquire music tokens.
  • To be used in a music marketplace. With the number of decentralized music projects growing, a current list can be seen by visiting My Music Tokens.
  • Another reason might be for an investment. You can buy at a low price and sell when the price goes up.
  • Based on the definition from the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Comission), Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities, however, most tokens are considered securities. This is because most people who buy the tokens expect to make a profit when the price goes up in value.
Each token will have it's own unique features, which may include investing in Artist Royalties, use within a Content Marketplace, or buying and selling for investment purposes.
The musicEX token (MX) is the token associated with My Music Tokens, musicEX, and OnChain Music. MX will provide multiple functions, all which will be annouced in the near future!
